Just watched this for the first time. Such an amazing piece. Really eye-opening.
Somebody on my news feed (Phoebe Mendes) posted a “top 10 love songs” list yesterday. Figured I’d give it a shot since I was looking for a playlist challenge myself. In no particular order (links in song titles):
1. She Is Beautiful by Andrew W.K.
I wanted to kick off the list with a very “First Step” romantic song. That deals with the immediate chemistry fascination/infatuation from a male perspective. This is how it starts. No song captures the feeling better (musically or lyrically)
“but it’s you, I fell in to”. I’m not sure this song is supposed to be as romantic as i’ve always thought it to be, but it’s always struck me that way. There not much to say about it. It’s beautiful.
3.) You’re My Home by Billy Joel
I catch a ton of shit for loving this man’s music… but this song is perfect and would probably be #1 if I were doing this like a countdown. Lyrically, this song perfectly illustrates the type of love that everybody wishes they could have.
4.) Poprocks & Coke by Green Day
This is just what all forms of true love should be. Somebody to be there for, regardless of what kind of personal sacrifice that requires… and to know that there’s somebody else that feels the same way.
5.) Just Like You by Scott Klopfenstein
This song has a very dark musical texture, with mindbogglingly sweet lyrics. Perfectly communicates post-separation romantic feelings by a party that isn’t exactly “over it” yet. There’s a lot to find in this one.
6.) She Just Happened by The Mighty Mighty BossToneS
What a sweet song about that bitter-sweet recollection of expired love. This one is very unique and very important to me.
7.) What Went Wrong? by The Slackers
…And of course those feelings that always come from seeing that person again. This song might be a little off topic, but I think there’s romance to be found in it’s message… which is, at the very least, relatable.
I’m just glad I know about this song.
9.) If I Could Build My Whole World Around You by Marvin Gaye
The Perfect “Give you everything if I could” love song. Perfectly complimented by the sunny arrangement and Marvin’s beautiful voice. It’s a duet!
10.) Leave it To Me by Shaggy
Just an undeniably sexy hook. Figured I’d tack it on at the end. Little dirty. Ain’t no crime.

It is with a heavy heart and an un-quenched thirst that I have decided to halt my excessive soda drinking habits. My beverage consumption will now be almost entirely water-based (save for the occasional juice drink, special events).
While this is the final step that will make me fully sXe, that label had little to do with the decision. This change is being made in the interest of my body and voice, as well as in the elimination the closest thing I have to a “vice”.
I encourage you all to continue living in a way that pleases you, no judgement from me.
Living clean.

Anonymous asked: Are you going to "The Beatles: The Lost Concert" movie premier in a few weeks?
Nope.
“Straight Edge” by Minor Threat
Words to live by. Trust me.
I’m a person just like you.
But I’ve got better things to do.
Than sit around and fuck my head.
Hang out with the living dead.
Snort white shit up my nose.
Pass out at the shows.
I don’t even think about speed.
That’s something I just don’t need.
I’ve got the straight edge.
I’m a person just like you.
But I’ve got better things to do.
Than sit around and smoke dope.
‘Cause I know I can cope.
Laugh at the thought of eating ideas.
Laugh at the thought of sniffing glue.
Always gonna keep in touch.
Never want to use a crutch.
So I guess I’m single now… Imagine that.
